'Double Double' Summer Fundraising Campaign December '24 - February '25 We're running our 'Double Double' fundraising campaign this summer so that we can continue creating life-changing opportunities for graduates like Rose. With a dream of one day opening her own café, Rose was finding it impossible to land her first job in Australia. She came to Scarf in mid-2024, engaging in hands-on training, industry mentoring, and real, paid work experience with our partner, Garden State Hotel. She's now been employed by Garden State for close to six months. In 2025, Scarf will facilitate 1,200 hours of paid work experience in partner venues. Trainees will be paid just over $30,000 in award wages and super, directly by Scarf. Can you help us raise $30K before the end of February? Donate now . The impact of paid work experience In 2024, we trialled a new approach to paid work experience, working closely with partner venues. We’ve already seen incredibly strong outcomes; 6 out of 7 recent graduates (from Winter Scarf ‘24) have secured jobs in hospitality. Half of these employment outcomes have been a direct result of the Scarf program (and the talent of Scarf Trainees!); three graduates were offered jobs at their work experience venues - Stomping Ground Brewery and Beer Hall, Tippy-Tay at Garden State Hotel and Pullman Melbourne Albert Park. We're excited to continue refining this new approach to work experience at Scarf in 2025 and beyond.
