Scarf Dinners Booking & Refund Policy Scarf Dinners and Events provide vital funding for our programs and operate on a ticketed, pre-paid system. To book a Scarf Dinner or Event, you must pre-pay or use a Scarf Gift Card. Tickets are non-refundable and generally cannot be transferred to another date.* If you can’t attend, we encourage you to pass your ticket(s) on to someone else and let us know by emailing [email protected]. If you’re unable to find someone to take your place and need to cancel at the last minute, we are happy to turn your ticket purchase into a donation to Scarf (we are a registered charity with DGR status). We will issue a tax-deductible receipt to you. We may also be able to offer a 50% refund of your ticket, ensuring we can honour our commitment to our Partner Venues, who rely on confirmed catering numbers and need to be paid accordingly. *In exceptional circumstances, we may consider transfers. Please email us to discuss your options - [email protected]. . . Why do I have to pre-pay for Scarf events? As a social enterprise, we have myriad operating costs, including paying award wages to our trainees and our small, dedicated team. We also pay our partner venues for confirmed catering numbers, which must be provided in advance. Scarf events are a unique experience which involve lots of people - Scarf trainees, mentors and staff; our partner venues and their chefs; and you, our awesome diners. Having a set amount of pre-booked, pre-paid seats means each Scarf event is patronised by the right amount of people to ensure that: (1) Scarf trainees get industry-relevant learning experience in a busy restaurant (2) The partner venue’s kitchen can adequately prepare food and manage orders on the night (3) Scarf customers have a fantastic dining experience, and (4) Scarf remains a viable and sustainable social enterprise. The chefs from Scarf’s changing partner venues design the Scarf menu and cook on the night. This is a business relationship between Scarf and our partner venues, and we must confirm catering numbers with the chefs so they can adequately prepare and staff the kitchen for each Scarf event. .
