By attending Scarf Events, you're the catalyst for the new trainees to grow their skills and confidence. Plus, you’re helping to fund our social enterprise model which allows us to pay trainees and graduates award wages for their work. Thanks in advance for joining us at a Scarf Event and helping us to transform lives through hospitality.

Winter Scarf Cocktails and Canapés

at Starward Distillery, 50 Bertie St, Port Melbourne
We'll be pairing top-notch cocktails with delicious canapés from the Starward team, in an event format that's new to Scarf. We'll be welcoming a panel of Graduates, Mentors, and Partners, to share their experience and insights of working with Scarf, with a plentiful grazing table and drinks flowing throughout the night.
This unique event is a great opportunity to learn more about the Scarf Community, and network with the Scarf team, and some of our board members, hospitality partners, mentors, ambassadors, funders and more!

.

Starward have been supporting Scarf in myriad ways since 2016, and we can't wait to finally run an event in their beautiful distillery! Pictured: Spring Scarf '23 cocktail training session at Starward.

Please note, as well as working at these two Scarf events, the Winter Scarf '24 trainees will also gain extensive paid work experience through Scarf Partners. Find out more about Scarf's new work experience model

Autumn Scarf '24

As part of Autumn Scarf '24 (our first 10-week Seasonal Program for 2024), we ran two special Scarf events at Rumi in May. These dinners provided front-of-house work experience our Autumn Scarf '24 trainee cohort - Kimiya, Sahand, Guli, Ndrah, Ali, Ku Hea Paw, Aida and Maram. They were supported by Scarf mentors - hospitality professionals volunteering their time - to run the front of house. A moreish Middle Eastern banquet was cooked by Rumi's experienced chefs. As always, Scarf trainees were paid award wages for their work.

The Scarf x Rumi pop-up dinners which ran as part of Autumn Scarf '24 allowed trainees to gain solid work experience, while diners enjoyed a delicious Middle Eastern feast.
